Dreams On Fire

My first real post may be... the past few days i have been feeling kinda strange... sure of myself, at the same time unsure of myself... this sem i have had a hell lot of free time... spent mostly sleeping, watching tv series (One Tree Hill, Prison Break), reading newspaper and studying... in that order

Looking back at the 4 years i have spent at BITS... it has been one hell of a journey... living away from home for the first time, far from the protective environment... i wasn't sure i would be able to survive the 4 years of engg... but now, when some 20 days or so are left for me to graduate as an engineer (though i hardly consider myself to be one)... i feel i have come quite a long way... from the reserved, confused, agitated person i was 4 years back... i am a much stronger, confident and independent person today... i don't consider myself to have learnt a lot academically or studies-wise... but the experiences that BITS has given me... experiences with people, places, situations... these have moulded my personality to a large extent... some of these experiences have been fabulous...great friends, who have been there for me through thick and thin... advised me, lifted me, supported me, encouraged me, chided me :) ... i cant thank BITS enuf for getting me to places and situations, so that i could become close to these people...
some unpleasant experiences too... there have been misunderstandings, fights, heartbreaks... each of them , teaching me a bit or two... am glad that i haven't come out weaker, if not stronger, each time...

today, when i am about to step into the hurly-burly of the corporate world... i cant even begin to imagine the kind of life awaiting me there... i hope its fun, eventful and enriching in every which way... i will miss my college, but more so, i will miss the bonds i made here, i will miss the people i met here, people who have left an indelible impression on me... i will carry with me the fond memories i have with each one of them... of the ones which turned unpleasant included... i guess this is what u call life.... cherishing the past, absorbing the present and looking forward to the future... on this note, i will end the post... below is the lyric of the song i am listening to right now... its what motivated me to write this post (dunno how)... enjoy d lyric... ciao.

You are my waking dream
You're all that's real to me
You are the magic in the world i see

You are in the prayer i saying
You are in my two my names

You are the faith that make me be live
Dreams on fire
Higher n higher

Passion burning
Ride on the path
Once for forever yours
In me
All your heart
Dreams on fire
Higher n higher

You are my ocean rage
You are my thought each day
you are the laughter from childhood games
You are things further down
You are where i belong

You are make me feel in every songs

Dreams on fire
Higher n higher
Passion burning
Ride on the path
Once for forever yours
In me
All your heart
Dreams on fire
Higher n higher

IF

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream -- and not make dreams your master;
If you can think -- and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings -- nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And -- which is more -- you'll be a Man, my son!

-- Rudyard Kipling
